Edward was born and raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. After attending Penn State University, he served two years in the US Army during the Korean War. After returning from the Army, he joined his family’s boys’ clothing business where he worked for 40 years. After retirement he relocated to Sugar Land, Texas and began his glass art career.
He attended stained glass classes at The Glass Cottage in Houston, Texas. Upon completing beginning and advanced classes he began producing stained glass pieces. In addition, he taught stained glass artistry at his studio.
Over the past four years he has studied glass etching by sand blasting, deep carving, gold leafing, and airbrushing with Norm and Ruth Dobbins of Professional Glass Consultants in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
Currently, he has branched out into warm glass artistry and produces fused and slumped glass bowls, plates, and jewelry. Most of his craft is self-taught. The majority of his work involves fusing dichroic glass into decorative yet practical pieces. His work also features etched scenes, monograms, and logos on glass and mirror. He designs and builds metal display stands both for his own bowls and plates as well as for other glass artists.
